3 Reasons Why Writing Letters is Better than Sending Emails

Even If It Takes Longer

We are living in a world where communication is instant, so writing a letter might seem outdated.
But, being a person who has spent many afternoons with pen and paper, I can assure you that letters have a unique charm that emails just could never match.

It is for sure, emails are quick and convenient, but where is the romance in that?

Taking Time to Slow Down

Writing a letter forces you to slow down.
Honestly, you have to be very patient to sit and think about it.

Unlike emails, where you can type and send in seconds, letters require time and thought. You can carefully craft your words, letting them settle on the page - which is by the way, no less than art.
In our rushed lives, itā€™s refreshing to pause and let your thoughts flow onto paper.

The Personal Touch

I feel that hand written letters carry a personal touch that emails lack. Itā€™s not just the words but how they are writtenā€”the quirks in your handwriting(not font), the little doodles, the occasional smudge from a spilled cup of tea or coffee maybe.

A letter feels like a piece of you, something deeply personal that you are sharing with someone else.

A Keepsake to Treasure

Emails can get lost in the clutter of your thousands of emails inbox, but a letter is a keepsake. You can keep it with you forever. Itā€™s something you can tuck away and revisit years later - forming a tangible memory of a connection.

So, while emails may be faster, letters will always hold and a very special place in my heart.
Sometimes, taking the longer route is worth it. Next time you want to reach out, consider writing a letter.
Well, I am not saying that you will always have to find a post office to send letters to a person, even to the ones who live next door!

Itā€™s more about expressing things that you canā€™t express properly, otherwise. May be an incident or something particular that you are not able to share verbally.
You will realise how easy it would become to express yourself through a letter.

Hey, do not think of writing a letter using Generative AI and copying it on paper. I am sure, mischievous people might do this to impress somebody.
But trust me, that would never be able to speak your heart out. šŸ©·
