Life Stole Everything From Her—Even Her Last Breath
I Keep Wondering: Did She Ever Get to Live?
In the year 2022, somewhere around the month of January, my ex colleague Sam got married.
Back then I used to work at a digital marketing company. Sam was this thin guy who used to sit beside me.
He was not a great performer, but used to manage things almost decently. He was a shy kinda guy who wouldn't talk much.
Later I understood he used to smoke weed sometimes and maybe that's why he used to stay in his own world.
Sam was overall a good coworker to sit with. He sometimes used to flirt with me, but that was the non harmful type.

A few weeks later, his mood seemed to be improved than earlier. He used to bring lunch at office, made by his wife and used sweetly have it whatever she made for her.
I remember his remark once, he said " she made this especially for me , waking up early morning, I'll have the dry bread even if she forgot to pack me the curry".
Well, that was kinda self explanatory. It seemed that he was starting to appreciate her efforts and it was good sign.
I worked at that organization till March 2022. I had no contact with him after that.
It was only last week, that is March 2025 that I met Sam on the same bus.
He seemed off. I called him and asked how he was doing?
He just…
