Types of People You’ll Find on LinkedIn
The ‘Office Space’ of Social Media
Okay, so, LinkedIn, that one professional networking site where everyone pretends to be super serious and successful. Where everyone has achieved almost 20 years of experience already, in their 10years of career. Everyone, except you.
But if you try to be real, there are some real characters on there. Some who are just trying to flex, others who are lost in their own little world, and then there's the occasional gem who actually uses it for its intended purpose.
The Career Guru
They are LinkedIn’s resident know-it-alls. They post about "career growth" every other day, as if they’ve cracked the code to success.
They're always dropping advice like "network, network, network," but I'm pretty sure they've never actually left their desk. I mean, seriously, have you ever seen a career guru at a networking event? I haven't.
The Job Hopper
You know the type. They have been at their new job for three months and they are already posting about how "excited" they are to be there. They’ve probably already got their next job lined up, and they are just waiting for the right time to announce it.
I once had a job hopper as a coworker. They were always talking about their next big move, what can be the next salary. Again, what’s the better package that’s available for the same job role. And it is honestly kind of annoying. These people can never be happy.
The Self-Promoter
This is the person who uses LinkedIn as their personal billboard. They are constantly sharing articles about themselves, their company, and their latest achievements. It’s like they’re trying to convince everyone that they’re the most important person in the world. They would literally brag about their accomplishments every single day. It was so cringeworthy.I literally want to tell people like this , " dude nobody cares!”
